This is the lowdown, this is how it was, how it is and how its gonna be. I am a savvy web designer / developer. I have a wide range of skills from building webservers to designing banner advertising. If its on the web I can build it!

how it was

As a form of self expression I began building websites when I was 16. In 1998 I finished school and got accepted into Multimedia at University College Cork. After my second year, I went to America and spent the summer in working San Francisco. There I got caught up in the hype of the new dot com industry. I scored a nice gig freelancing as a html coder, which easily paid for my entire summer trip. Bored with mundane university courses, in 2003 I along with 2 other creatives (Martin and Ian) started a new media company, "Rocket Media". Working out of Ian's bedroom with zero capital we began our new company. We did whatever was needed to obtain website contracts. I quickly learned flash, php and mysql. Our first website took heavy inspiration from the classic MTV2 3D site. Our second, a database driven website with a CMS (content management system). Rocket Media grew and grew. In 2002 I graduated my Multimedia degree with honours. Rocket Media, moved out of Ian's bedroom and into an office in Cork City. We took on more staff and developed numerous initiative websites and created the offline marketing campaigns to match. This soon made us the most progressive web company in the city. In 2004 I moved on from Rocket Media (now a team of 6), I said good bye to my mobile and my girlfriend and took off for Australia. In Oct 2004 I arrived in Australia. After a few months travelling around Australia enjoying life it was time to get back to work. I took a job as a freelance web developer for the design house Carbon Plus. A few months later it was time to move on again to my current position at Immersive. Immersive is a creative web solutions company, they loved my multi-job role ability and hired me as a web designer / web developer. My latest work done at Immersive can be seen in my portfolio.
